Satisfied
Used to order lapsang from another local retailer and it was great, but they discontinued selling it. I've tried many storebought brands of lapsang souchong and they're frankly not very good. Decided to try ordering from Golden Moon and it's exactly what I was looking for, so I'm satisfied. Will be buying more.

the best I’ve found
This is my all time favorite tea. The smoky aroma is great and the flavor is so smooth. The other brands I’ve tried just aren’t as refined and are either flavorless or have a burnt taste. I buy it in the 1/2 lb bag.

I am a tea drinker and have been for years. I am delighted to have discovered Golden Moon tea. I basically drink Pur eh but wanted to try something different so I got Lapsang Souchong because I liked the description. I drink it solo many times but I also like to mix it half and half with my put eh. I love the smoky flavor.

This Golden Moon tea is the best Lapsong Souchong I've ever brewed. The packaging is very tight and secure, keeping the leaves fresh. And the flavor has a wonderful smokeyness that is just right. Would definitely by again.

Warms You From the Inside
Lapsong Soushong can be too smokey and overwhelms you when you drink it. That is not the case with this tea from Golden Moon. It is a sweet smokey flavor that reminds me of sitting in front of a fireplace snuggled with my puppies. It brings happy memories and warms you, body and soul.
This is destined to become a wintertime favorite.

A fine, smooth, definitive Lapsang Suchong. These days I favor one part Lapsang Suchong to three parts plain black tea for an interesting & less assertive drink

Souchong lover
I've been a fan of lapsang souchong for many years, and I find Golden Moon Tea's product to be a consistently fine tea compared to the various other sources I have used. I drink a lot of chai and other teas to which I add (too much) sweet and milk, but I've a few robust black teas that are nothing but joy in their purest form, and this tea is one. I love how I can fill my small (16 oz) thermos with hot water and but a pinch (1/4 tsp?) of lapsang souchong tea leaves, and in an hour or so when I want some hot tea, it is perfect: not too smokey, and certainly not bitter. Less is more for this tea. Well worth having in the cupboard if not a requirement.

Incredibly tasty and rich tea. I put just a touch of Stevia in it, and it is delightful. I have had many Lapsangs in my life, and some have been good, some have a bad aftertaste or are metallic, but this one is pure taste without any aftertaste or metallic factors. I buy it by the pound.

Absolutely FANTASTIC
The first time I had Lapsang Souchong I was so surprised and shocked. At both the fact the tea was smoked and at how much I loved the taste. This particular one is by far the best I have ever had. I crave this tea at times. It is great with cream. Or without. I often use a stick of horehound candy as a sweetener it pairs wonderfully with the smokey flavor. As well as a teaspoon of single malt highland scotch. In a cup of this tea I also use a multi floral manuka honey to sweeten it at times. It is an awesome natural pairing. I steep this tea only twice the first being just a fantastically amazingly flavored brew first brew is 3 min. The second a little longer. This is a staple in my tea cabinet and always will be

Almost every morning
This tea is fantastic. I'm on my fourth or fifth 1/2lb bag and I'm sure I'll get more when I'm done with this one. It's not for everyone of course, some people think smoked tea is really strange, but I love it. This Lapsang Souchong is definitely the best one I've ever had. There is a wonderfully complex flavor including smoke (of course), honey, and floral notes, without any bitterness. I have had the opportunity to pair it with a lot of other things and it should come as no surprise that a cup of this works amazingly well with some smoked bacon and eggs. When paired with a cigar, the smokiness is toned down and you really pick up on the floral notes that linger in the background when you drink it on it's own. I usually steep mine in boiling water for 3 minutes the first time and 5 for the second. I don't add any sweeteners or cream and there really is not any bitterness to speak of. I would highly recommend this tea to anyone wanting to explore a smoked tea as this is the best example I've found.

Best Tea Ever
I have Irish ancestors, and we all know that the Irish are famous for their passion for tea. Well, I can tell you ... Golden Moon teas are the best I have ever tasted. Irish Breakfast tea in the morning for a sparkling energetic start. On to to their Roo-I-Bos tea for an afternoon pick-me-up. Lush forest-y flavor with a sweet caramel note warms the soul and brightens my mood. And look forward to evening for my top favorite, Lapsang Souchong. Pure smoky flair with a light natural sweetness, and I never have trouble sleeping after the last soothing cup. A cuppa Lapsong is like a warm snuggle ... very big up here in Maine to take the chill off after sundown.

We have been customers of Golden Moon Tea for years they have THE BEST tea of anywhere and we love everything from them till this tea - sooooo smoky it looks like tea but smells like a campfire in a bag - doesn’t really taste like tea either. I am keeping it in the garage because I don’t want the smoky ness to sleep into my other teas lol. My husband is ok with it to drink “occasionally like fine scotch” but I shouldn’t have bought so much lol - I assumed because we loved everything for years we would love this and I was wrong lol. My error, not the company’s - they are FANTASTIC. This tea is weird. Literally everything else from here is superb. Highly highly recommend everything else from Golden Moon but be careful with this one, maybe start with a smaller bag.

Oh My, Oh My, Oh My!
This tea is such a lovely, unexpected treat. It is quite smoky. I LOVE the flavor. The first brew is strong and bold, a second brew is mild and subtle. Both are delightful.
I have always been a "coffee" person, but recently needed to stop drinking coffee. I have been looking for a strong, bold tea that would replace coffee for me. This is becoming a new go-to me. I also am enjoying Pu-erh, another unique tea. If you like Pu-erh, I think it likely you would enjoy this one.
I have other brands of Lapsang Souchong which are much less flavorful and smoky. I give this one a 5 stars because, for my taste, it is the best I have ever experienced!

Smooth but smokey
I'm not a fan of the smokey flavor in my tea, but the teas is smooth. Needed a bit of doctoring up with honwy and lemon to tolerate, but was curiously not bad as iced with a black tea blend. It was an interesting adventure trying it, but IO will not be repurchasing this one.

Lapsang Souchong is one of those things that you either love it or you hate it, there's no in-between. Well, I absolutely love it. I can't drink it without a smile coming to my lips. It's odd, as I cannot abide smoking tobacco, so that can't be why I love it. I don't want to let a day go by without drinking at least one cup of it.

Tobacco leaves in tea form...Y-U-C-K!!
Bought this in their black tea sample, & just as the info says, favored by alcoholics & smokers. Well, that's b/c their taste buds are fried from all the cancerous elements. I'm shocked this is a tea, any antioxidants that tea may provide, well that's pretty much gone, smoked out!...by the tea leaves roasting over a barbecue pit for goshsake. This flavor is so distinct like Russian Caravan, you can't mistaken what-it-is...SMOKE! And if u want to attract cockroaches, well this tea they love b/c of that smoky smell. I would know, I live in Hawaii & they love smoky fish, smoky anything!

Wow!
Ok, so I loved the description of this tea and decided to try it. But when I got it the scent of smoke was so overpowering that I put it aside for a week or two and didn't make it. Yesterday I got brave and decided to try it. I think part of my hesitation is that we just went through a big wildfire so the smokey smell was more stress-inducing then intriguing! But I am so glad I finally tried it. You definitely have to ignore the intensely smokey scent from the tea, because once it brews that fades somewhat. The flavor of the tea is complex. You get a hint of smoke, plus a little of a traditional black tea, but there is an almost-but-not-quite sweet quality to the tea as well. I think I'm going to need to drink a lot more of it before I can really define it, but that is something I will be happy to do, because this tea exceeded all expectations!
I think the description mentioned whiskey, and like a good whiskey or even a good wine, there are layers and complexities to this tea that I never thought a tea would have. I definitely recommend it!
C. Lopez said:
Surprising!
When I read the description of this tea, it was not attractive to me, but I decided to order it just so I can get to taste the first kind of black tea that was invented. Smooth and smoky! It's like drinking a barbequed tea (I guess it is), seriously, but in a good way. The aroma is powerful, nothing like any other tea that I have tasted. It's smells like a summer campfire, very simple aroma, but the taste is much more better than that. It has a very long aftertaste, that will coat your motuth for a very long time. A unique experience, great tea!

The King Of Teas
While Darjeeling may be the queen of teas, Lapsang Souchong is the King of teas. I am drinking a cup as I write this review. If you make your tea strong as I do, make sure you don't over-brew it (four minutes max}. It takes to honey very well, but go light on the cream (I never use milk in my tea). Good for any time of the day. I especially like it for breakfast.
